Retired from teaching Dec 2000. After retiring I lived in Turkey
for two years but decided it was a bit too uncivilised and so moved to
France. I spend my time creating
websites (more interesting than this) , designing brochures, working on
computer graphics and birdwatching. I also get some pleasure from
making musical instruments(and attempting to play them). I enjoy
good food and better drink, a
varied selection of music and paintings. My interests include military
history, cosmology and writing programes for the computer. My
favourite music (at the moment) is the South African "Ladysmith Black
Mambazo" but generally my tastes run to the older, medieaval and folk
music figure well in my collection. In literature I read the Discworld
novels of Terry Pratchett almost back to back but I intersperse them
with the Sharpe novels of Bernard Cornwell. I also read a lot of
history as well as keeping up with the scientific literature on the
net.
Just moved back to UK because of Ann's family reasons(March 2010) Not happy about it but I can live with it.
